Hiya,
I heard you get called out by Matt Mittan today. You really squandered an opportunity and came out representing all WNC conservative bloggers poorly.
Call him up! Take a Stand!
I don't trust him, and he blew things way out of proportion and over-reacted.
And trying to bully me into calling him ain't gonna work...did he keep going on about it in the 4 o'clock hour?
If he were really concerned about "dialogue" with conservative bloggers, he would have said something when I broadcast his show over the internet on a video-stream.
He can't say he didn't know...because I have the discussion between us after the show on video...so he can't say he wasn't aware.
There is much more...but you get the picture. I was the one who inspired the idea of having bloggers on a roundtable. He asked for my info...and he has yet to call or e-mail.
The pity is, I have listened to his show since July or August or 2004, linked to him for years (even suffering abuse from other conservatives who have tried to warn me about him), No, Matt is about Matt.
And I think you (and he) over-estimates his conservative listenership.
I used to call in a couple of times a week...and haven't called since he cut me off in the middle of explaining Operation C.H.A.O.S. to him. He is a lost cause, and I am through being Don Quixote.
Better to be Don Quixote than Rocinante, that's what I say.
And don't feel bad, TP. Mittan snubbed me as well, and I still sleep fine.
I feel fine...I just hate bullies.
There is nothing in it for me to be on his show. his demographic has changed since I started listening.
I've found Mittan to be entirely up front and cooperative. He was saying that you were complaining about a lack of conservative voices on the station. Then he said he invited you to the front of the phone line. Then he said you emailed that you know a trap when you see it.
He invited you to have air, and you refused. Doesn't sound like bullying to me. I'm guessing he'd afford you the same opportunity if you called today.
He reaches about 40,000 listeners a day, and he's sandwiched between Limbaugh and Hannity. You can tell me his listenership isn't conservative, but it doesn't wash.
Oh - and you said that he's a danger to the Republic. What was up with that?

Plus, I have listened to him mock conservative callers after the call (at least once while you were on the air with him) and you should listen to the exchange with Bill Sabo he had while on tour. He would not listen to the professor...so why would he listen to me? He over-reacted to my e-mail...plain and simple.
Did he continue on it in the 4 o'clock hour? I had to meet with some investors and forgot to record it. (I have the 3 o'clock hour)
Just like his over-reaction to Mark Young. His nickname should be Drama Queen.
Mittan uses a gimmick that you always hear on shows with weak hosts: bumpers with clips of callers telling him how great he is. "You go Matt! You tell it like it is!" "You're so great, you don't take crap from anybody!"
