Why Obama's Communist Connections Are Not Headlines

There's a lot of frustration among conservatives over how Barack Obama's radical past seems to be making no impact whatsoever among the American public. His connection to communists in particular, from communist-terrorists like Bill Ayers to the communist agitator-journalist Frank Marshall Davis to fellow travelers like Saul Alinsky, has simply failed to resonate beyond the political right. Quite the contrary, the more information that becomes available on Obama's radical associations, the more he seems to widen his lead over John McCain, a man who was tortured by communists in Vietnam.

I understand these frustrations completely. I'm also not surprised.

I have seen for quite some time that although we won the Cold War -- and defeated the Soviet communist empire -- America is vulnerable to varying degrees of collectivism, wealth redistribution, "creeping socialism" (Ronald Reagan's phrase), class-warfare rhetoric, and generally milder, more palatable (but still dangerous) forms of disguised Marxism. Why? How? The answer is simple: The history and truth about communism is not taught by our educators.

That total failure to remind and understand means that Americans are painfully vulnerable to repeat mistakes that should have been forever tossed onto the ash-heap of history.

Commentary

Not to steal the author's thunder, but I place a large part of the blame on the communist (ie, "progressive") professors in our colleges have re-educated a generation of people in communist ideology. (When you hear someone describe themself as a progressive, know that they are saying communist)...despite his claim that they are simply leftists. They would have us travel down the same road, and they pave it with lies like "communism hasn't really been tried." They fail to tell you that they only way to get to communism is over the slain bodies of tens of millions of the foes of communism.

I am on the campus of a university, and I hear things from the mouths of professors that should immediately disqualify them from teaching forever.

Things like:

"Prices should be set by the government"
"Corporations make too much profit."
"Profits above a certain amount should be seized by the government."
"People shouldn't be allowed to buy mobile homes."
"Owning land should be illegal."

And my all-time favorite: "Only people with Graduate Degrees should be allowed to vote."

Of course, these progressive professors wouldn't utter these thoughts if they were aware that I was a conservative, let alone an evil conservative blogger.

I have had the thrill of hearing one of them refer to my blog and say the author of it belongs in prison or a mental institution. (Of course that is where the communists tend to send people with "Politically Incorrect" views).
