Education Secretary Arne Duncan, former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich and civil rights leader/onetime Democratic presidential candidate Al Sharpton will hit the road together later this month in the name of education reform. The tour starts Sept. 29 in Philadelphia, heads to New Orleans on Nov. 3 and then to Baltimore on Nov. 13 -- cities selected for what they can teach others about school reform. The Department of Education plans to add other stops, including a rural venue.
This calls for a reprise of the caller named Greg from San Antonio who called in to the Rush Limbaugh program on January 15, 2008, who asked a very apropos question about Newt:
I think that Newt Gingrich has spent too much time hob nobbing with the Washington Beltway Types. He's become a Media Whore like John McCain and so many other moderate Republicans who just want to be loved and to be popular with all the right people.
Good Grief. Now, there is no way I'm paying for access to any of his websites or buying his books. (I never subscribed to his website, but I've bought plenty of his books).
What a waste.
