West Point Cadets Celebrate Osama's Death




This is the scene at the United states Military Academy after news that Osama Bin Laden was killed by US Navy SEALS and a CIA Paramilitary Squad.

I wonder if celebration is appropriate in this situation. If it meant the death of an ideology, I could understand. Relief is clearly in order (at least for me and a few others I know whom are family members).

"Justice?" He wanted to be a martyr. America gave him his wish. Better to have imprisoned him and let him sink into obscurity.

I understand the sentiment, but it is more complex than "the wicked witch is dead."

TJ: All I can leave you with is a piece of scripture that sums up my feelings on the matter:

"When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers" Proverbs 21:15

The righteous were joyful and evildoers were not. It is as simple as that.
