Arctic Sea Ice Increases at Record Rate

Lefties will try to tell you that the Arctic sea ice is melting at a record rate. Don't listen to them, because they are telling you a lie.

A case in point:

Looking at this plot of the 30 day slopes of actual NASA gridded data, the maximum ice melt rate occurs in 1999 and in 2004 not in 2007. Surprisingly the maximum ice growth rates occur in 2007 and 2008, I don’t remember those headlines for some reason. Don’t forget when looking at the 2008 - 09 peak, the data is preliminary and hasn’t been through the same processing as the other data. From looking at the unprocessed data I doubt it will change much.

car exhaust causing global warming B/S a few years ago 60 minuets tested new cars coming of the line at GM FORD and Chysler with the same test values, not one could pass, so the question was from mike wallace was if they carnt pass now how can they pass three years from now or 10,000miles from now! cateletic converters cause the engine to rev faster and burn more gas, the exhaust emmisions business is huge, especially when they expect you to replace the the cataletic converter every three years, a new one carnt pass the test anyway! the state of CT spent $400 million on a testing station that couldent even test results, so they sold it for $10 cents on the dollar and moved the testing to dealers who invested millions on equipment, that dident work either , they all got stiffed!
Al gore is a lier.

Hello! In fact the January ice extent was the 6th lowest on record since 1978 and the trend continues to be less ice on average every year in the arctic. The downward linear trend in January ice extent is -3.1% per decade. Satelite images confirm that total ice VOLUME reached a minimum in 2007. This mimimum was for ice extent as well total ice volume which means that we hit a low in 2007 and 2008 of total ice, because it has been melting. Now we have some first year VERY THIN ice which has increased the ice extent some (still below average) and it will melt very quickly and most likely give another record low in the summer for both extent and volume. Extent does not tell the whole tale because it can bunch up along the shore or at other places the volume is more important. Also thin first year ice can expand quickly in the winter. Regardless both indicies remain below average. The Envisat satellite showed the low in volume using radar altimeter to measure ice volume.
