Any Way You Like It (Unless You Are A Christian) in Asheville, NC

This is the second installment in a new series devoted to pointing out the principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness that has laid claim to Asheville, NC...and operate from it as a stronghold.

Asheville is famous for being a center of satanic New Age activity. The folks at the Buncombe County Tourism Authority want to present Asheville in a positive light, with the newly minted motto, Any Way You Like It, complete with advertising campaign.

Last weekend, Asheville celebrated it's 30th Bele Chere, and people came from all over to the festival, including people wanting to preach the Word of God in a Lost City full of Lost People.

So far, nine videos of the street preaching have been uploaded to you tube, and I took the liberty of making a play list out of them and embedding them here for your edification, especially if you are thinking of moving to, or visiting Asheville with small children:



Note the abuse the people heap upon the preachers. Even the local blogging superstar partook in the activity of mocking those preaching the word of God.

The preachers have a ministry called Pinpoint Evangelism, and if you are interested in supporting financially, here is a checklist to go through before giving to them.

Whether or not you are able to give them financial support, you can support them and their mission in prayer in your role as a Prayer Warrior.


And pray for Asheville, and the people who live there, that they might become convicted of their sin, and turn to God for salvation.

John Armor Article in Human Events

Local author, raconteur, and former primary candidate in the GOP NC-11 race, has an article on Human Events entitled, "Anybody Remember The Red Lion Case?" and here is a snippet to whet your appetite for more:

...What Justice White does not include in his opinion is the relative availability of media when he was writing his opinion. There were slightly more than 4,000 daily newspapers in the United States, then. Most major cities had competing dailies. Some cities like Chicago and New York, had more than six competing newspapers.

At the same time, in 1969, the number of TV licenses were in the hundreds, and there were fewer radio licenses than newspapers.

Today, all of those figures are reversed. The number of daily newspapers is down to about 2,000 and declining. The number of TV stations are above 10,000, and the number of radio stations about five times as many. Given cable and satellite technologies, the average American household now has access to at least 100 TV channels, plus dozens of specialized radio stations. That average household has access to less than two daily newspapers.

It was this change in the facts which led the FCC to end the Fairness Doctrine almost thirty years ago. The disparity, with print media declining and electronic media growing, has continued apace since then. This huge advantage in favor of individual access to broadcast channels that offer what they want, is increased by orders of magnitude when the Internet, plus pod casting, are added to the mix.

Those who are arguing for reestablishment of the Fairness Doctrine have not done their homework....

You can bet everything you own that the Democrats will get a new Fairness Doctrine in place if Barack Obama is elected President, and that will mean the end of AM Radio.

Fortunately for us, the Internet will be here for the conservative commentators to utilize to side step the ban on conservative talk. That will be good for people who have access to DSL or faster Internet connections, but not for the millions who are on dial up, or listen while on the road, or away from computers.

Will wireless carriers be able to stream Internet radio? Or will people employ a work around like I did while WZNN/WZGM was offering talk radio programming? (I used a transmitter to take the audio from an AM Radio and transmit it on FM so I could hear the faint 1350 kHz signal on my Walkman on an empty slot on the FM Dial, usually 87.9 MHz, up to a mile from my pickup).

I am firm in my belief that if the Fairness Doctrine is passed, we will find a way around it...for the Neo-Stalinist Democrats do not understand the power of freedom, and the utility of Free Markets...that is one reason lefty talk never took hold. They just don't get it, and never will.

Obama's Prayer Approved For Publication

A Ma'ariv spokesman was quoted in the Jerusalem Post as saying that "Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem." The paper added that is was "pleased" with its "journalistic accomplishment."

The campaign might be less pleased with another pronouncement by Maariv: "In any case," the spokesman said, "since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an infringement on his right to privacy.

The prayer should not have been published. I know I would not have allowed my prayer to be published, and the very fact that Obama's Campaign had copies of the prayer to hand out to media outlets mocks the nature of man's relationship to God:

Is Abu Khabab A Shish Kabob?

A Pakistani intelligence official claimed al Qaeda weapons expert Midhat Mursi al Sayyid Umar, better known as Abu Khabab, was killed in this morning's airstrike in South Waziristan.

"We believe he was killed in this strike," a senior intelligence official told AFP on condition of anonymity. "It was his hide-out and information that has been shared with us says he was targeted in this strike."

Six Pakistanis, including three foreigner terrorists, were reported killed in the airstrike, which hit either a madrassa or a home next to a mosque.

Abu Khabab and four other senior al Qaeda commanders were reported to have been killed in an airstrike in the town of Damadola in the Bajaur tribal agency in January 2006. The US military believed the safehouse in Bajaur, which was run by Taliban chieftain Faqir Mohammed, was sheltering Ayman al Zawahiri, al Qaeda's second in command. Khabab and the other commanders were later found to be still alive.

The US Rewards for Justice Program has a $5 million bounty out for the capture of Khabab.

Khabab has a long history of working with al Qaeda's secretive weapons of mass destruction program, which is known as al Zabadi, or “curdled milk." Project al Zabadi is al weapons of mass destruction program.

This is indeed sickening at how these lefties will excuse any crime committed by their heroes. I still remember how the Legacy Media published several stories with the same bent when Clinton got caught, and how they would wax eloquent on the beauty of telling lies, and how Great Men had a different set of needs than the rest of us poor peasants.

I think it is very funny that John Edwards (who they held up as a hero who stood by his woman during a life-threatening bout with breast cancer) was sleeping with another woman while his wife was fighting for her life, even fathering a bastard child. Yes, I know the "Politically Correct" term is love child. I just can't help seeing Elizabeth Edwards fighting for her life while John Edwards was catting around just like Bill Clinton.

It is a hypocrsiy as delicious as the hypocrisy of "Green Guru" Al Gore with a Carbon Footprint the size of a mid-sized town!

Jihadis Bring Polio Back To Children in Pakistan

Second polio case in Swat

ISLAMABAD: A second young girl has tested positive for polio in Swat valley, where militants have warned against vaccinations, health officials said on Sunday.

They said security fears were preventing health workers from carrying out a new anti-polio campaign. A three-day polio vaccination campaign for children aged less than five years is scheduled to begin in the NWFP on Monday.

But the campaign will not be carried out in two areas of Swat Valley, Kabal and Matta, due to ‘uncertainty’ and deteriorating security in recent days, said Dr Abdul Waheed Khan, a senior provincial health official.

A local pro-Taliban cleric, Fazullah, has said that polio vaccinations are a Western conspiracy to make Muslim children infertile.

Record Setting Chill in Anchorage This Summer; Global Temperature Continue Decline

The coldest summer ever? You might be looking at it, weather folks say. Right now the so-called summer of ‘08 is on pace to produce the fewest days ever recorded in which the temperature in Anchorage managed to reach 65 degrees.
That unhappy record was set in 1970, when we only made it to the 65-degree mark, which many Alaskans consider a nice temperature, 16 days out of 365.This year, however — with the summer more than half over — there have been only seven 65-degree days so far. And that’s with just a month of potential “balmy” days remaining and the forecast looking gloomy.

it's been a cool summer here in my valley...I have yet to turn on my air conditioning this summer, and several mornings have been in the upper 40's, forcing me to wear a jacket on my way to the office.

And I guess this would be a good time to point out the July Update on Global Temperature that came out a couple of days ago (and duly shared via my Google Reader) that shows a continued cooling trend. While June was the 9th warmest June on record, it was part of a trend of ever cooler Junes after the peak in 1998. You won't hear the fear mongering Legacy Media report that fact.

Unarmed Sheep Shot (One Dead) in Knoxville Church

Multiple people have suffered gunshot wounds in what witnesses describe as a mass shooting inside a church in West Knoxville Sunday morning.

The shootings happened at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike.

A witness who spoke to 10 News said police had arrived and one person was being detained at the scene.

A children's production of "Annie" was taking place as part of the normal Sunday service at the time of the shooting, the witness, who is a member of the church, said. The gunman walked into a packed sanctuary and opened fire.

Commentary

I call them sheep because they did not have to be shot, and face death. An armed congregation could have defended themselves, saved lives, and lessened the number shot. The number of bullet holes in the attacker would (hopefully) have been at least equal to the number in said congregation with a firearm.

The sheep scenario would not happen at my church, as the number of shepherds outnumber the number of sheep in our flock.


Of course, since it was a Unitarian Universalist Church, odds were low that anyone inside would be armed under any circumstance.

The entire plan is breathtaking in its scope. But it does not, as at least one internet writer has suggested, portend a "giant police force." It would be easier to rebut if it did. As it is, it's silly stuff born of naively fanciful dreams.

Senator Obama aims to tap into the already active volunteerism of millions of Americans and recruit them to become cogs in a gigantic government machine grinding out his social re-engineering agenda. It's Orwellian-like, with a novice social activist's mentality at the helm...

I can think that an Obama Presidency would combine the very worst aspects of FDR's experiment in socialism and Woodrow Wilson's experiment in fascism:

Men are as clay in the hands of the consummate leader.” So much for the dignity of each person!

These are going to be some of the points I will be hammering home to people in the days until the election...and, for the life of me, I cannot understand why someone would vote for Bob Barr when their vote would be better served casting it for the only person in a position to defeat Barack Obama...John McCain.

Is Snopes in the Tank for Obama?

Ever wonder if something silly that came in the mail is true or not? If you have, you may have headed right on over to Snopes.Com to check it out. See if it was valid. See if it was a hoax. You trusted the trusty debunking of email myth by the Snopes.Com tribe. Well, you now have to be careful what you believe from Snopes.Com.

Obama wound up canceling a trip to visit wounded soldiers in Germany when he learned he could only do it in his official capacity as a Senator and he could not bring along his blabbering, loving horde of media. He worked out instead during that time. A fact.

But now, the 'Progressive Regressive Immature Children of the Scorn' PRICS are quoting a Snopes.Com article to say a 'blow off' isn't so.

Never mind the topic. For that matter, never mind the country. To PRICS, context has a way of just getting in the way. After the PRICS have changed the context to match the topic (a favorite pastime for them, otherwise known as 'spin', perpetrated by SPIN PRICS) they are proceeding to act as if it matters, which is how SPIN PRICS manage to justify themselves.

We have Snopes.Com accepting an email forwarded from one of the Democratic Underground SPIN PRICS, writing up a nice 'debunking', and the SPIN PRICS grab it as if it was real, to point out how 'Obama never did 'blow off' soldiers. Very few of them bother to notice it was in Afghanistan, and the context in the news is Germany, of if they do, it doesn't matter.

To determine whether Snopes.Com is in the bag for Obama, just take a look at their items. Look at 'The Natural' from an email in July 23, 2008 an old topic, just now being reviewed? Or how about July 9, 2008's 'Campaign Contributions' a false article gave Snopes.Com the opportunity to push the Obama line. "57 States" is not only true, it is true more than once, but instead of stating whether it is true or not, Snopes.Com gives excuses for Obama, he was tired. 57 and one more to go, and he was tired.

535 Neros Fiddle While Rome Burns

WASHINGTON - House Republicans on Thursday scuttled a bill that Democrats hoped would help lower gasoline prices by forcing the Energy Department to release 70 million barrels of oil -- about a three-day supply -- from the national stockpile.

Democrats vowed that the action would have produced immediate relief at the pump, as was the case with similar releases in 1991, 2000 and 2005. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve now holds about 700 million barrels.

Despite winning a clear 268-157 majority, the measure still lost. Democratic leaders had brought the proposal up for debate under rules requiring a two-thirds vote to pass.

But passing the bill by just a majority would have meant allowing Republicans to force a vote on new offshore drilling leases.

"They're hiding from a vote," said GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio. "They're scared to death to allow us to ... force their members to vote on drilling."

Commentary

This election is very important, and the Senate and US House Races are now more important than ever. Due to their boneheadedness, the GOP will be playing defense this year as they attempt to prevent the Democrats from obtaining a supermajority of 60 seats in the Senate (which is likely to happen), and increasing their lead in the House.

One way out of this "prevent defense" is for McCain to choose an acceptable conservative running mate with credibility in economic matters, and I believe that to be Mitt Romney. This wish to pry Bobby Jindal away from his state before he can fix it is stupid. Jindal has decades ahead of him before he need to consider running for President.

How Many People Read Blogs?

The short answer, according to PEW, is 11% of internet users regularly read blogs, and 58% don't have a clue. The funniest observation is that 5% of internet users blog on a daily basis...so that means about half of people who read blogs have one themselves.

Okay, fine. 11% of what number?

According to World Internet World Stats, that would be about 247 million Americans who use the Internet, which would lead me to the number of 27 million daily blog readers in North America. I find that hard to believe.

The last time such a study was released, it was claimed that 8 million had blogs, and 32 million read them, and even then, it was hard to believe.

I note that even now, some of the bigger blogs like Daily KKKos gets just under a million hits a day, and a certain percentage of those hits are multiple hits from people reading the various dairies in the site. Of course, that doesn't take into account those who read via the RSS Feeds...but it can't be that many.

I suspect that many who said they read blogs really don't know what a blog is, or read blogs on Legacy Media websites, like CNN, MSNBC, FOX, or the various newspapers.I don't consider those blogs as part of the blogosphere.

I hope there is more forthcoming from this survey, and I'd like to look at their methods and how they asked the questions. I suspect we may never really get a real answer to  the question posed in the title of this post because of advertising concerns.

It would be bad for business.

Democratic Activists Store Urine To Attack Police

Just how sick are these people?

A new kind of warning has come up about protesters gearing up for the Democratic National Convention. Denver firefighters have learned of a house full of urine being stored to throw at police. An internal memo is warning first responders that disgusting acts are a significant concern. Protesters in other cities have used urine and feces filled balloons to throw at police and there are concerns that could happen during the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Denver City Councilman Doug Linkhart has proposed an ordinance to keep protesters from carrying the so called urine bombs or other liquids in the protest areas.

Media: Sexual Impropriety Is Okay For Democrats Why They Refuse To Cover Edwards Love Child

Yesterday, I ran a story from the National Enquirer (courtesy The Drudge Report) about John Edwards spending the night with his mistress, and the Legacy Media did not.

Jack Shafer at Slate has a story on the non-story:

When the original Enquirer story about the affair with Rielle Hunter came out, Edwards categorically denied the relationship, stating: "The story is false. It's completely untrue, ridiculous." As he rejected the Enquirer's charges, Edwards was making his wife and their marriage a central component of his campaign. If Edwards had had no affair, he wasn't a hypocrite, not then and not now.

But if Edwards had an affair and lied about it, shouldn't he suffer scrutiny akin to that of Craig? At least three-dozen daily newspapers in the United States published the Craig news the day after the Roll Call scoop, according to Nexis, but this morning not a single U.S. daily mentioned the Enquirer piece.

I can guarantee you if John Edwards had been a Republican, every person on the planet would know about it, and would know the name of his illegitimate child.

The Legacy Media is very biased about what they report, and act as Gate Keepers to protect their fellow travelers. Transformus 2008

I posted an article on the Neo-Pagan Religious Festival called Transformus on WNC Citizens Blog yesterday, including a photo of last year's temple burn, and videos a participant posted to you tube.

The festival is based on the Burning Man that takes place every year in the Nevada desert.

Asheville is really living up to their new motto (Any Way You Like It) designed to bring in the tourists, and this Neo-Pagan Festival seems to fit the bill.

John Edwards Caught With Mistress And Love Child!

The married ex-senator from North Carolina - whose wife Elizabeth continues to battle cancer -- met with his mistress, blonde divorcée Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night, July 21 - and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER was there! He didn't leave until early the next morning.

Rielle had driven to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara with a male friend for the rendezvous with Edwards. The former senator attended a press event Monday afternoon with L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on the topic of how to combat homelessness.

Henderson County GOP No Longer Co-ordinating With Mumpower

The Hendersonville Times-News is reporting that the Henderson County GOP is distancing themselves from congressional candidate Carl Mumpower:

Danos provided no other details for the decision, though he had said that party officials were increasingly frustrated in recent weeks with Mumpower's positions, including his support for impeaching President Bush over border security, his opposition to the domestic surveillance bill and his threat to suspend his campaign if mountain counties did not endorse his "Principles First" campaign.

Commentary

For the most part, I believe Mumpower is hitting the nail on the head.

What I think is hard on regional Republicans is that Mumpower is an involved candidate. Congressman Taylor was not involved in his campaigns, and was a very hard person to get in contact with (I never was able to speak to him in person during the 2006 Campaign, and spoke to Heath Shuler several times, even though I am a Republican).

Republicans in the NC-11 District have forgotten what it is like to have a candidate that is not controlled by handlers and gate keepers.

Phil Gramm made the mistake of correctly identifying Americans as whiners, and John McCain could not take the heat...so he tossed Gramm aside.

I will say that the McCain Campaign is appearing to be the most poorly run affair since the Fred Thompson Campaign. At least Fred let people self-organize, and I was proud to be part of that. I have tried to get in touch with the McCain people about organizing a ground game in western North Carolina, but they do not seem to be interested. "We'll win that part of the state anyway, so why waste resources there?" That mentality will cost them the election, mark my words.

The American Phsyical Society Reverses View On Global Warming, Will Sponsor Debates To Test Validity

The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming “incontrovertible.”

In a posting to the APS forum, editor Jeffrey Marque explains,”There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.”

I note that today is the 74th day in a row without a sunspot, and what may be a Cycle 23 spot is coming around the western limb of the sun. And for all you lefties that keep quoting the various IPCC Reports, read this devastating analysis [pdf download] of that flawed organization:

The IPCC is a single-interest organisation, whose charter presumes a widespread human influence on climate, rather than consideration of whether such influence may be negligible or missing altogether. Though the IPCC’s principles also state that a wide range of views is to be sought when selecting lead authors and contributing authors, this rule has been honored more in the breach than in the observance. More than two-thirds of all authors of chapter 9 of the IPCC’s 2007 climate-science assessment are part of a clique whose members have co-authored papers with each other and, we can surmise, very possibly at times acted as peer-reviewers for each other’s work.

Of the 44 contributing authors, more than half have co-authored papers with the lead authors or coordinating lead authors of chapter 9.It is no surprise, therefore, that the majority of scientists who are skeptical of a human influence on climate significant enough to be damaging to the planet were unrepresented in the authorship of chapter 9. Many of the IPCC authors were climate modelers - or associated with laboratories committed to modeling - unwilling to admit that their models are neither accurate nor complete.

I am really surprised at how everyone has misinterpreted this move by Mumpower, and misunderestimated him. Just ask his former opponents in the GOP Primary. I know I did.

In my opinion, the core of his support comes from people seeing him portrayed on WLOS as the sole adult on City Council (not on purpose, to be sure) all these years. Take this video I posted of Mumpower making Mayor Bellamy (and The Fab Four) look like idiots on the matter of partisan elections in Asheville. He was vindicated by the voters of Asheville, when they rejected the measure.

Hamid Karzai: The problem of terrorism, as it is affecting Afghanistan, is not entirely an Afghan problem. As a matter of fact, a greater part of this problem is a regional problem, and a greater part of this problem is unfortunately coming to us from Pakistan. So the Americans, the international coalition – when they say they are continuing to work in Afghanistan, and yet the security is not there, they are right, because they have not gone to the right place to fight terrorism.

Interviewer: Which is?

Hamid Karzai: Which is the sanctuaries that the terrorists have in Pakistan.

Interviewer: But Pakistan, actually, recently... I have noticed that there is a very strong declaration from the Afghan government against Pakistan. You have accused the Pakistani government of being behind your attempted assassination, the last one, and the most dangerous thing is that you have threatened that you would go behind the borders just to find Al-Qaeda, and Taliban as well, which means you will go to Pakistan. Right now, Mr. President, if you don't have the power to secure the situation in Afghanistan, do you think you have the power to go behind the border?

Hamid Karzai: When I said that Afghanistan would go in self defense beyond the Durand Line, [it] was in response to a statement that came from terrorist networks from Pakistan, from someone called Baitullah Mahsoud – you must have heard of him, and from someone called [Maulana] Fazlullah. They declared that they would cross the border and come into Afghanistan, to kill Afghans and the international troops. Now, for me, the president of a sovereign country – when there is a threat issued to me beyond my borders by someone, what is my responsibility?

Interviewer: That's right, but the question is: Do you have the power? Can you do it?

Hamid Karzai: The power is the power of the government, of the institutions of the government, and of the people. Afghanistan is known in history – and Afghanistan has proven that in history – that when the Afghan people decide to defend themselves, they always win – as we have always won.

Commentary

The War on Terror (World War IV) is not limited to fighting against governments (such as Omar Mohammed's Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein's Iraq, or Syria, Iran, North Korea, Sudan...etc), but also against organizations that are not governments. In this war, the umbrella organization called al-Qaeda is an enemy, as are Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah, Abu Sayyaf, Jamaat ul Fuqra, and dozens of other terror groups worldwide.

Fighting this war to a successful conclusion will involvemany things, but one of the most important ingredient is not allowing terrorists to have sanctuary anywhere in the world. They must always be pursued, and never allowed to rest or re-build their strength.

Previously, the Democrats have agitated for more troops to go to Afghanistan. Wanna bet they'll change their minds once they realize there might be some possibility of going into Pakistan to fight the terrorists, even as the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama, once suggested?

Dangerous Drought Bill Advances Past Second Reading

House Bill 2499 [HTML Version] [PDF Download] has advanced past it's second reading in the General Assembly.

In the following article, all sections in red are direct quotes from the legislation.

The bill has the innocuous-sounding title "AN ACT to improve Drought preparedness and response in North Carolina, as recommended by the Environmental review commission."

Here are just a few of the more egregious items I found with the legislation:
Section 4. (a):
(9) Any member of the Commission or any person authorized by it, shall have the right to enter upon any private or public lands or waters for the purpose of making investigations and studies reasonably necessary in the gathering of facts concerning streams and watersheds, subject to responsibility for any damage done to property entered.

I wonder if this includes posted land. And you can guarantee this will be just another camel nose under the tent that will further threaten our nearly non-existent property rights.





And if you want to have nightmares, just read the amended § 143‑355.2. Water conservation measures for drought, which includes measures for requiring local governments to implement water conservation measures whether they are in a drought condition or not, at the discretion of the Secretary. This includes water source restrictions in multiple counties or municipalities when one are has been declared to be in drought, and the neighboring area is not.

And here is the biggie: SECTION 6. The Environmental Review Commission, as part of its ongoing study of the allocation of water resources in the State required by Section 1 of S.L. 2007‑518, shall study whether and to what extent private groundwater wells and the use of water produced by private groundwater wells should be regulated by the State or units of local government. The Environmental Review Commission shall report its findings and recommendations, including any legislative proposals, to the General Assembly as provided by Section 1 of S.L. 2007‑518, as amended.

Here is the smoking gun that was denied earlier...the regulation of private wells. The State of North Carolina will be investigating whether or not they will regulate your private wells, and that includes putting meters on wells, no matter what Joe Sam Queen said in this Sound Off Buncombe Video. How else will the State of North Carolina determine your water usage unless they put a meter on the wells?

People, this should be the time we pick up our pitch forks, torches, and buckets of tar to let our elected representatives in Raleigh know that we are watching them, and we are not happy.

There is much more that is wrong with this bill, especially in the enforcement section where fines and penalties are spelled out.
