Rasmussen National Tracking Poll for Jan 9th

The GOP:

  1. Huckabee 22% (21)
  2. Romney 19% (19)
  3. McCain 19% (18)
  4. Thompson 12% (11)
  5. Giuliani 9% (13)
  6. Paul 3% (3)
I should have been paying attention to the national numbers instead of looking at the pre and post primary polling...I missed the Giuliani slide on his miscalculation on waiting later to campaign in the primaries. That was apparently a fatal flaw in his strategy that he may never recover from, as well as Thompson...even though I agreed with him at the time.

The Dems:
  1. Clinton 32%
  2. Obama 31%
  3. Edwards 19%
Hillary no longer enjoys double-digit leads in the the national polls, and it will be a real slug-fest to see who emerges on top.

Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. The overwhelming majority of interviews for today’s update were conducted before results from New Hampshire were known. The next update is scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Each update includes approximately 750 Likely Democratic Primary Voters and 600 Likely Republican Primary Voters. Margin of sampling error for each is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

Upcoming events are the Michigan Primary on Tuesday the 15th, and the Nevada Caucus and South Carolina Primary on Saturday the 19th.
