Yes, I agree. We need a libertarian President. However, the only libertarian actually running is Ron Paul.

Really enjoyed the Neal Boortz audio pounding on the apologist Muslim that called in. You have some good stuff on your site. By the way, why in the world do you have Matt Mittan listed as among along with so many good conservative talk radio personalities ? He certainly "is not" a conservative. By his own very strident admission. He is doing the same thing for the Libertarian Party that he accuses Fox News of doing. And that's fine, if he would just admit to his bias. It's very deceptive, untrustworthy.

Tim:
Ron Paul is against the war in Iraq and is a 9/11 Truther. This removes him from consideration.

Fed up!:
If there was another show in WNC that I could hear, it would be listed.
When WZNN had Hannity on, I listened, when they had Ken Bagwell on, I rejoiced.
Like it or not, Mr. Roadkill is the only thing going...unless I am in my truck, then I listen to Hannity on XM124
You will see a change as talk moves to FM.

Thunder,

Ron Paul SHOULD be against the unethical, sacrificial, non-defensive, nation-building, military adventurism in Iraq. We all should be. Iran, however, is a different story.

The comment about 9/11 Truth is repeating a smear. Ron Paul is critical of the 9/11 Commission Report and advocates investigations into the political causes of terrorist animosities.

I don't entirely agree with Ron Paul on foreign policy. He is a strict non-interventionist and I am not. Still, his consistent libertarian public policy positions put him squarely in front for consideration. At this time, Ron Paul is the best candidate in the entire field.

You tell him, fed up!
I have been telling TP that Matt Mittan is nothing more than an opportunistic SOB with delusions of grandeur.

When he had the blogger round table on in April...he had only liberals on the show, and one newspaper man who pretended to blog from the center. I have quit listening to the show because that man is nothing but a charlatan...look who his friends are, the music he listens to, and the places he frequents.

I am soooo glad the petition he championed failed...maybe it will wake people up to the fact that no one listens to his stupid show!!!!
Sorry for the rant, TP. This guy p*sses me off but good.

It is not clear that the petition has failed.

The referendum petition was delivered to the City of Asheville at 5:00 PM on Monday, July 16th with 6,192 signatures. The Buncombe County Board of Elections has 10 working days to verify the signatures and validate the petition. This puts their deadline at July 30th.

BOE has gone through the signatures once and has apparently found 1,733 to be invalid. That is 41 short of the required 5,000. A second pass may regain the 41.

At any rate, 4,959 valid signatures on a petition to force a referendum should not be taken as good news for city council members running for re-election.

John:
I really wish you'd start a blog, or agree to contribute to WNC Citizens Blog...you'll get the hang of it, just look at me---if I can do it, then any body can!
You wouldn't believe the hatemail I get over having Mittan on my sidebar.
Yes, I know the Arbitron numbers are smoke and mirrors designed to maximize advertising revenue.

Tim:
Are you aware that there were people actively working against you guys? I found a blog while I was searching for info on Let Asheville vote from the internet, and found this blog, called Green Wizard. No wait, apparently you guys have already found him.
What's up with that?

I have to clarify my last comment about where I said, "It's very deceptive, and untrustworthy." I was not referring to you TP. I was referring to Matt Mittan. And Thanks John, your right on the money. Matt is for Matt. And if it would help his career, he would throw the unaffiliated under the bus. I mean when a person is striving to be upwardly mobile, do you not think they will do what it takes to remain on the radio, and keep their job. In other words he plays, and manipulates his listeners.
