Dry high pressure will return to the region today, sliding east off the East Coast by Wednesday. A low pressure system and associated cold front will bring abundant moisture back into the area from the west during the latter part of the week. Another high pressure system builds in for the weekend.

While, as of 4am, the National Weather Service has not issued a Fire Danger Statement, Macon Media notes that conditions are dry and relative humidty values will be low this afternoon and winds will be picking up this afternoon. Contrast this to the potential for high winds and heavy rainfall for Thursday. More about that below.
