Franklin Town Council Special Meeting (08-18-2025) | Macon Media
Summary of Meeting
The Franklin Town Council held a special called meeting this morning, during which they voted to appoint Janet Green, the current chairman of the Town of Franklin Planning Board, as an alternate to the board. This is a non-voting position, but she can take part in discussions and serve as an officer on the planning board. The vote was 6-0.
The board went into closed session at 9.18am to discuss the acquisition of property. The closed session lasted 18 minutes. The board voted 6-0 to approve a resolution giving the Town Manager and Town Attorney to pursue the purchase of the old Angel Medical Center property for $910,000 and also voted 6-0 to take the funds from the General Fund Balance. A copy of the resolution will be posted when the video is published.
The town planning board will meet at 4pm this afternoon. Macon Media plans on covering that meeting as well.
