The others in this race have no report available yet.

So, this gives us a clearer view of the race, and where the candidates stand on their ability to raise money.

I'm disappointed that no one raised more than a quarter million dollars, which I consider the minimal acceptable level for preparing to take out an incumbent like Heath Shuler, especially one who rides the fence on many issues.

**11.30am** I've looked the numbers over, and am blown over that Open Secrets is reporting that Eichenbaum is mostly self-financed. The mantra from that campaign has been grassroots, grassroots, grassroots.

Dan Eichenbaum (R)

If these numbers are correct, then Eichenbaum has only raised $21,117 from individuals...while giving his own campaign $102,577. I'm blown away by that.

Miller, on the other hand, has raised $116,930 from individuals and has given his own campaign $12,000. I'm blown away by that, because the conventional wisdom had it that Miller paying for his own campaign. These numbers don't support that.

I've been eagerly awaiting the FEC reports that will detail who gave how much to each campaign. I'd like to have those before the primary on May 4th...

Now this is odd. Looks like someone is trying to buy the primary.

Why would the Eichenbaum Campaign release a a statement bragging that they were first to raise $100k when $102k of that money came from the candidate? That's not grassroots.

Members of the Counter Progressive Unit are invited to participate in a "Walkabout for West" Saturday afternoon in Franklin. For more details click here.

There is a Echenbaum supporter in my office, and she has cussing you Thunder Pig for posting this information. She is convinced you are being paid by the RNC or the Bilderbergers.

I've been trying to leave a comment on your blog about this post, but have been unsuccesful using my google account.

One thing that has kept anyone from raising the amount of money needed is that there are so many in the race. 2 or 3 of the bottom tier should drop out to ensure that a fringe candidate doesn't win this.
