Last Patrol Ride for MCSO K9 Zee
Law enforcement officers escorted the body of Macon County Sheriff Department K9 Zee (ret) to the county line yesterday afternoon on her way to be cremated at a facility in Greenville, South Carolina.
She began her service at a prison in Georgia in 2009 and came to the Macon County Sheriff Office, eventually being partnered with MCSO Deputy Blanton in 2011, whom she worked with until her retirement in 2015, where she took over duties of being a full-time companion and protector of the Blanton family. Her End of Watch was March 16, 2019.
The Macon County Boards of Commissioners and Health Meet in Closed Session
The Macon County Board of Commissioners met in a joint closed session with the Macon County Board of Health to discuss the selection of a new Health Director and to determine an offer of compensation to one of the applicants for the position. The open portion of the meeting lasted less than three minutes and the two boards met behind closed doors for half an hour before coming back into open session and adjourning. [LINK TO VIDEO]
The next regular meeting of the county commissioners is Tuesday, April 7th, at 6pm.
Outlook
Dry conditions come to an end on tonight as some moisture moves in ahead of a developing coastal low and a cold front moving in from the west. Dry weather returns on Friday and continues through the weekend. Another cold front with low pressures is expected to bring more widespread rain on Monday and Tuesday.
