Press Releases from Macon County Regarding Official Distribution Center and Monetary Donations to Assist Maconians Impacted by Helene



Macon County Hurricane Helene Donation and Unmet Needs Distribution Center 


Franklin, NC


Macon County will open a Hurricane Helene Donation and Distribution Center on Monday, October 7, 2024. The location will be the former Ingles in the Holly Springs Shopping Center, 183 Holly Springs Plaza, Franklin, NC. Hours for donation and unmet needs pickup will be 9:00am until 4:00pm. This center is expected to remain open until Friday, October 11, 2024 at 4:00pm; however, this is subject to change as the situation evolves.


Some of the new items needed for donation include: toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, grab and go non-perishable food items, infant food, pet food, towels, cleaning wipes, work gloves, flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, garbage bags, unopened socks, unopened underwear, personal hygiene products, gas cans, and can openers. Currently, we do not need any additional clothing.

Macon County Hurricane Helene Monetary Donations

A fund has been set up for monetary donations to benefit Macon County residents who have experienced losses due to Hurricane Helene. Donations may be made to Macon County Helene Disaster Relief Fund. Checks may be mailed to Macon County Finance Department, 5 West Main Street, Franklin, NC 28734. Donations made to this relief fund will be used to assist Hurricane Helene impacted Macon County residents with needs such as medical supplies, food and food supplies, utility payments, etc.
