GENERAL OUTLOOK

A surface low pressure system is expected to lift northeastward along the Carolina coast today keeping rain chances around. Brief drying returns Thursday afternoon into early Friday before a cold front brings unsettled weather back to the region this weekend into early next week.

A few strong to severe storms are possible on Friday and Saturday ahead of a cold front, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The main hazards with any severe storms that develop are damaging wind gusts and large hail.
