HAZARDOUS WEATHER
An organized complex of severe thunderstorms may impact portions of the area late this afternoon into this evening with a threat for damaging winds. The greatest chance for severe weather will be across northeast Georgia and the western Upstate of South Carolina generally along and south of the Interstate 85 corridor.

Terry Smith Funeral Procession (06-06-2025)
Terry “Tom” Jewel Smith, 69, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Terry was born in Macon County to the late Jewel and Louise Woody Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Judy Wyatt.
He served his country in the US Army for over 20 years. When he was stationed in Italy he played on an Italian football team. He worked for the Macon County Sheriffs department around 14 years before retiring. Terry loved to ride motorcycles and went out West every year to Sturgis for the rally. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; deep sea fishing was one of his favorite types of fishing. He liked watching football, but most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
