GENERAL OUTLOOK
Tropical Cyclone Debby is currently centered just off the lower South Carolina Coast and is nearly stationary. As Debby moves northward over the next couple of days, considerable rainfall is expected roughly along and east of Interstate 77. The remnants of Debby are expected to eventually move north of our area by Saturday with drier high pressure spreading over the region in its wake.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Debby, located just offshore of the Georgia and South Carolina coastline.
1. Southwestern Gulf of Mexico:
Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located over the southwestern Caribbean Sea remain disorganized. The northern portion of this tropical wave could reach the southwestern Gulf of Mexico over the weekend, but any development should be slow to occur.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.
Pollen
Pollen levels are expected to be in the medium-high range (8.0 out of 12) today with Grasses, Nettle, and Chenopods being the main culprits. Tomorrow is expected to be in the low-medium range (4.4 out of 12.0).

Grace Johnson Art Collection Reception at the Macon County Public Library
Friday, August 16, 2024 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Macon County Public Library Meeting Room - Grace Johnson Art Collection Reception & Friends of the Library Fundraiser
Grace Johnson spent much of her retirement years volunteering with the Friends of the Library—her family is exhibiting some of the art she collected throughout her career which took her to Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Grenada, Iran, as well as stateside locations. Art will be on display throughout the month of August and available for bidding to raise funds for the Friends of the Library. Refreshments will be served.
