Here is the news and weather briefing for Macon County.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

Dry high pressure will remain across the region through the middle of the week and maintain hot and humid conditions. A more unsettled weather pattern develops Thursday with showers and thunderstorms returning to the area through the weekend and early next week as a cold front approaches our area then stalls out.




There was a candidate forum at the Franklin High School Fine Arts Center for those running for Chairman of the Macon County Board of Education. Here is a speech given by Mo Green, a candidate for State Superintendent. Below is the updated color version of his speech.

An area of low pressure could form in the central portion of the Tropical Atlantic in a few days. Thereafter, environmental conditions appear generally favorable for some slow development of this system by this weekend into early next week as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.
