OUTLOOK

Cool high pressure will build over the region today through Saturday. A weak cold front will cross the area from the west Saturday night through Sunday before dry high pressure returns to the region through the early to middle part of next week. A stronger cold front will approach the area by Thursday.

...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA THIS MORNING...

Light upslope snow showers will continue this morning at elevations above 3500 feet over the western North Carolina mountains. New snowfall amounts will range between 1 and possibly 2 inches at the higher peaks before the snow tapers off by late morning.

Drivers are urged to use caution as roadways may become slippery, especially untreated or unplowed back roads.
