GENERAL OUTLOOK
Oppressive heat and humidity persist through Thursday, with dangerous heat indices expected across the low terrain. Isolated to widely scattered afternoon showers and Thunderstorms are expected through Wednesday. A cold front will boost shower and thunderstorm chances toward the end of hte workweek as well as bring some much-needed relief from the heat. Below-normal temperatures and more drizzly conditions are expected over the weekend.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across the area this afternoon and evening. An isolated severe storm or two cannot be ruled out, with the main threat being damaging wind gusts. Some storms may also produce small hail and locally heavy rainfall.
Heat Indices will be around the high 90s and low 100s through mid week. Please stay hydrated and limit time spent outdoors. If you are outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Plan outdoor work for the cooler hours of the early morning or late evening. Check on the elderly. Make sure outdoor pets have access to shade and plenty of water.
