Weather Hazards

Winds will taper off todayThe high winds that we have been experiencing in Macon County will taper off today. The Wind Advisory will expire at 7 am.

A low-pressure system will bring precipitation to the area late Friday night through Sunday. Temperatures may be cold enough for the precipitation to fall as snow or a wintry mix. However, there is quite a bit of uncertainty with this system regarding timing, location of wintry precipitation, and precipitation amounts. Right now, it looks like the bulk of the storm may pass to our north. Elevations above 3000 feet will likely see 4 inches or more of snow this weekend. It is still up in the air how much the rest of us will receive due to uncertainties in the temperatures.
