Temperatures like this are expected over the next few mornings before moderating. More cold snaps are expected over the next few weeks.
Outlook
High pressure will continue dry and mild weather through the middle of the week. A fast-moving frontal system will cross the forecast area Thursday night and Friday, with another moist system expected Saturday night into Sunday. Very cold high pressure will build across the region early next week.

Weather Hazards
Hazardous weather is not expected today. Snow showers may develop in some location above 3500 feet later tonight. No significant accumulation is expected. Roads that pass through these higher elevations may become slippery tomorrow morning.
NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook
Isolated to scattered snow showers will fall across the North Carolina mountains this evening into the overnight hours, especially at elevations above 3500 feet. No significant accumulations are expected, with just a dusting to a half inch of snow possible along the higher ridges and near the Tennessee border. Overnight lows in the 20s may lead to slippery road conditions at these locations.
