A public hearing was held at 10 am this morning in the Robert C. Carpenter Community Building. Macon Media only found out about the public hearing while browsing the WLOS-TV website shortly before 7:30 am, so was not able to provide the public much notice of this public hearing. Upon further investigation, a member of the Macon Issues online community discovered there was a public notice published on November 8, 2017, in the legal section of The Franklin Press, which is the local "paper of record." What follows is a video of the public hearing, which was attended mostly by MIssion Health Employees, members of the Angel Medical Center Board of Directors and a couple of people from the Town of Franklin and Macon County EMS. No one from the general public signed up to comment during the public hearing. Two county employees were the only ones to sign up to speak, the Director of Macon County Emergency Services, Warren Cabe, and the Coordinator for Macon County EMS, Todd Doster, both spoke in favor of the new facility from the standpoint of Macon County EMS.
An earlier article on the proposed site for the new hospital was published by Macon Media in November. [LINK]
