...GROWING SEASON HAS ENDED ACROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND EXTREME NORTHEAST GEORGIA...
The end of the climatological growing season across the foothills and piedmont of the western Carolinas and extreme northeast Georgia is November 11. This is the approximate median date of freezing temperatures for our region, with freezing temperatures typically becoming more likely after November 11. Thus, frost and freeze products will no longer be issued this fall. Products will resume in the spring when the growing season returns.

1. Showers and thunderstorms continue to show some signs of organization in association with a low pressure system located about 700 miles southwest of the Azores. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for some additional development, and the system could become a subtropical cyclone during the next few days while it moves slowly northeastward.

* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
