THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST GEORGIA...PIEDMONT
NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS
THIS EVENING. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WIND SHEAR AND AN UNSTABLE
ATMOSPHERE AHEAD OF THE LOW IS LIKELY TO RESULT IN THE DEVELOPMENT
OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST
GEORGIA TODAY AND TONIGHT.

THE AREA MOST AT RISK OF SEEING SEVERE WEATHER INCLUDES UPSTATE
SOUTH CAROLINA...NORTHEAST GEORGIA...THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS
SOUTHWEST OF ASHEVILLE AND A SMALL PART OF NORTH CAROLINA JUST
WEST OF CHARLOTTE AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 40. THUNDERSTORMS IN
THIS AREA MAY PRODUCE EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE HAIL LATER TODAY AND
TONIGHT. DAMAGING WINDS AND A FEW TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE...
PARTICULARLY OVER THE UPSTATE AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA.

IF TEMPERATURES WARM TO AROUND 70 DEGREES TODAY...THEN SEVERE
WEATHER WILL BE EVEN MORE WIDESPREAD AND WILL LIKELY AFFECT AREAS
AS FAR NORTH AND EAST AS CHARLOTTE...SALISBURY AND STATESVILLE.
HOWEVER...IF CLOUD COVER HOLDS HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S...
THEN THE SEVERE THREAT WILL PROBABLY BE CONFINED TO A SMALLER AREA
INCLUDING NORTHEAST GEORGIA AND THE UPSTATE SOUTHWEST OF
GREENVILLE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
