Israeli News of Operation Cast Lead
DEBKAfile--Israel will unilaterally declare a ceasefire from 1pm to 4pm local time in certain areas for the delivery of humanitarian aid. The post also reports that Hamas has preserved a number of Iranian-built Fajr-3 rockets which have a warhead of over a hundred pounds.
IDF Spokesperson--A summary of January 6 operations is available, including this list of targets taken out:
A vehicle carrying an anti-aircraft missile launcher. Eight smuggling tunnels used by Hamas to bring weaponry into the Gaza Strip. More than ten groups of gunmen, including one identified planting a bomb. Approximately 16 weapons-storage and weapons-production facilities. Approximately five rocket-launching spots, including one hidden underground.
Israel and the Middle East--Here is an article that explains what is going on inside Israel...what the civilians are going through.
Rallies for Israel
JTA--The rally, held Tuesday afternoon opposite the Israeli Consulate, was intended as a show of solidarity with the Jewish state as it continues Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks on its southern frontier.
Jewish community leaders pledged to stand by Israel. Some demonstrators held signs aloft calling for the elimination of Hamas, the controlling power in Gaza that is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.
Atlas Shrugs--The last minute, thrown together pro-Israel rally in NYC today was so packed, so overwhelming, they were turning Jews away. You could not get to the rally. The support parade was across from the Israel consulate between 42nd and 43rd. The police could not contain the throngs of happy, peaceful supporters and forced folks off 2nd Avenue. It was unbelievable.
I have been to all those Jew hating rallies, and they take over whole swaths of New York (this past weekend, for example) - they are given huge amounts of space, but the cops would not let us into the barricades. The Israel supporters were pouring into the streets. The young and the old - what a stark contrast from the haters' demonstrations. Dark vs. light.
Pro-Hamas Thugs, Anti-Israel Demonstrators and Other useful Idiots
Gateway Pundit--A pro-Hamas demonstrator hits a citizen journalist for asking him to clarify what he thought Hitler should have done better.
Contentions--Noah Pollack notes the dishonest nature of how the media has reported the deaths of civilians in a UN School in Gaza that was being used as a weapons cache by Hamas. After the IDF took out a Hamas mortar team that was stationed there, several booby-trapped bombs went off, killing several and wounding many.
Other Collections of News
Peace Like A River--This guy has an extensive roundup of news from around the world that you should read every morning, and this new format is a blatant rip-off of his format.
Analysis
American Thinker--Marc Sheppard has a good article entitled "Gaza: Another Jihadist Ploy to Fuel Worldwide Anti-Semitism" that explores the Hamas strategy of using the media and useful idiots to further their worldwide anti-Semitism.
War Crimes
Jerusalem Post--The IDF took out a mortar team that was operating from the UN School, which was also being used as an weapons and ammo storage area, and several booby-trapped bombs went off...killing 30 and wounding 55. I should note here that using a school as a military asset without removing civilians is a war crime under articles 18 and 19 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. That the Legacy media has failed to report this is an indication that they have chosen sides in this conflict, and that they are against Israel...and for the Hamas Terrorist Organization.
Here is a video clip of the Islamic Terrorists of Hamas firing mortars from that very same UN Elementary School for Boys in 2007:
The EU referendum--We are reminded that this is not the first time that Islamic Terrorists have resorted to war crimes, and have set the stage for the guillible Legacy Media to repeat their lies to the world. In 1996, Hezbollah staged many bodies in Qana for media consumption. It was later discovered many of the victims were forced into the UN supervised building against their will next to a Hezbollah military position that was designed to draw Israeli fire and kill civilians. This is also a war crime that was supported by the Legacy Media.
What is the tie between the two incidents? Islam and dead bodies. First, Islam:
A Newt One--Ben exposes the true nature of Islam in a piece entitled, "Islam: War Cult". A brief excerpt of that article is below, and I suggest that you go and read the entire series of which this one post is but one of many:
Allah states: “Whoever kills a human being… then it is as though he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a human life it is as though he had saved all mankind.”
The quote is from Surah Al-Ma'idah 32. Of course, Muslims don't like to quote the next ayeh to Kuffar. But I like to, and I like to cite Ibn Kathir's tafsir of 5:32.
The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.
What is the meaning of "wage war against Allah"? Ibn Kathir gives an explicit answer: `Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways.. Notice the phrase I emphasized. disbelief is one of the definitions of waging war, which subjects one to the specified hudud.
No one probably ever heard of such a stunning message of peace, which considers killing just one person (be it innocent or not) tantamount to killing the entire humanity?
The catch is: only if that person is a Muslim! The parenthetical 'or not' is totally bogus. Islam does not recognize the sanctity of life of Kuffar
And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us[Bukhari 1.8.387].
Now the doubters should not have any more skepticism about Muslim’s claim that “Islam is a religion of peace”.
We are not in doubt; we know blessed well that Islam is a war cult, not a religion of peace. I have published 490 excerpts from Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence which leave no doubt. Those texts form a congruent pattern of unmistakable clarity.
Second, dead bodies:
The Atlanitc--Jeffrey Goldberg writes:
One more thing, speaking of pornography -- we've all seen endless pictures of dead Palestinian children now. It's a terrible, ghastly, horrible thing, the deaths of children, and for the parents it doesn't matter if they were killed by accident or by mistake. But ask yourselves this: Why are these pictures so omnipresent? I'll tell you why, again from firsthand, and repeated, experience: Hamas (and the Aksa Brigades, and Islamic Jihad, the whole bunch) prevents the burial, or even preparation of the bodies for burial, until the bodies are used as props in the Palestinian Passion Play. Once, in Khan Younis, I actually saw gunmen unwrap a shrouded body, carry it a hundred yards and position it atop a pile of rubble -- and then wait a half-hour until photographers showed. It was one of the more horrible things I've seen in my life. And it's typical of Hamas. If reporters would probe deeper, they'd learn the awful truth of Hamas. But Palestinian moral failings are not of great interest to many people.
Israel Matzav--Quoting from the teaser..."Arutz Sheva reports that a study by the Terror and Intelligence Information Center shows that when the IDF warns Arab civilians of an impending attack in their neighborhood, Hamas uses the information in order to organize the civilians into human shields in the hope of protecting the targets from the IDF's wrath. The Center explains that Hamas considers this a 'win-win' situation..."
