Vietnam Veterans will be honored with a parade and ceremonies honoring them in Franklin, NC on Saturday March 28, 2009.

The parade will begin at 10 am with participants leaving the Palmer Street Shopping Center and proceeding up Palmer Street (known locally as Back Street), then turning left at the Franklin Police Department, and left again onto Main Street, where they will proceed to the Gazebo on the Square.

The program will include speakers, schoolchildren performing songs, and a keynote by General F.P. Bodenheimer (ret) and a wreath laying ceremony.

There will also be 49 wooden crosses on display at the Macon County Courthouse with the names of soldiers from WNC that were lost in the Vietnam War.
