The Macon County Commissioners will be meeting tonight at 5 pm in the commissionr's boardroom on the third floor. This location can be accessed via the rear entrance of the building.

The public agenda, agenda packet and a copy of the changes to the US Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations zero-tolerance policy for the Macon County Transit are posted below in the interest of promoting transparency and accountability.

DISCUSSION TO CLOSE COUNTY OFFICES ON AUGUST 21st

The Macon County Commissioners, after a discussion with Sheriff Robbie Holland and Emergency Management Director Warren Cabe, voted 5-0 to close county offices on the day of the solar eclipse and give employees a paid holiday for that day. Essential employees will work on that day and all available public safety employees will be working from Friday to Monday. Here is a video of that entire discussion:

The Macon County Board of Commissioners will be meeting this afternoon for a continued session that will focus mainly on the budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year that begins on July 1, 2017, and runs through June 30, 2018. The Macon County Board of Education will also be meeting concurrent with this board and will be having a closed session after the conclusion of the Commissioners meeting.
