I will be webcasting live video coverage of the Republican Roundup event that is scheduled to take place between 4 and 5 pm today in the Boiler Room Steakhouse located in the Fun Factory in Franklin, NC. [Google Map]

Senator Richard, Burr, Jeff Miller, Jim Davis, Roger West, Dodie Allen, several State wide candidates for Judge, District 30 candidates for Judge, Sherriff Robert Holland, Brian McClellan, Charlie Leatherman, Ron Haven and Gary Shields will be at the Boiler Room from 4PM until 5PM for a Republican Candidate Roundup.  There is no charge.  Please come, tell your friends and show Macon County that Republicans intend to win ALL of these races.

Watch NC 11 Congressional Debate Live; Hosted by WCU Young Americans for Liberty

Young Americans for Liberty is a Constitutionally-focused student organization that promotes fiscal responsibility, unabashed individual liberties, and equal legal protection for all.

The Political Science Club at Western Carolina University will be hosting Dr. Carl Mumpower this Wednesday (Sept 17^th) from 12.30 PM to 1.30 PM at the UC Theater and I will webcast it live on Thunder Pig from about 12.15 PM (or earlier) until the end of the program.

Dr. Cal Mumpower is challenging Congressman Heath Shuler in the 2008 Election Cycle for a seat in Congress.

**Update** 8.46 PM It looks like I'll have something extra to ask Mumpower about if I can get an interview with him...hopefully part of it live if he has time, and doesn't run away like Congressman Shuler. Why Shuler has run from me, I'll never fully understand.

Press Conference Announcement

The Mumpower for Congress Committee has announced a formal press conference to be held on the steps of the Asheville City Hall building on Tuesday, September 16, from 12:15 - 12:30. The focus of the press conference will be on candidate debates for the 11th district seat. Heath Shuler has actively avoided all debate requests by area groups, political entities, and the Republican nominee, Carl Mumpower. On Tuesday, Mumpower plans a creative challenge to Representative Shuler's 'play it safe' campaign. Mumpower believes that his opponent is trying to limit exposures that reveal his liberal voting record. "There is a difference in 'Blue Dog' talk at home and 'Lap Dog' action in Washington," said Mumpower.

(Special Event) Thundercast

7.43 pm The live event is over, and I would like to thank the staff at WCU for their assistance, Don Yelton for the use of a laptop, and the commenters who assisted me chase down audio problems, and the tech guy from County NC News for helping me troubleshoot the troublesome camera driver installation.

This was a learning experience, and it is my hope that the next event will be bigger and better, and that the gremlins will find someone else to bother on that day!

2.28pm I will be live blogging the event here as well. If you have been watching the video, you will see that Matt is already here and setting up. He even asked me where the "facilities were" and I haven't been made. Keep refreshing the page for more updates. Especially if I can't figure out how to get the online comments going. Now you know why I try to keep my face unknown. I can walk right up to people, and they have no idea who I am. I guess my training from my former employer is still holding. [TP]

I am planning a special event live for Thursday at 3pm for at least one hour, possibly three. This will be a guerrilla webcast, and will be available on a network of blogs and websites from the East to the West in North Carolina.

The event will be live streaming video with audio, much like my webcast of the Gubernatorial Debate from Blue Ridge Community College. and embedded in this post, which will stay on top until 6pm on Thursday. I will also be archiving the video for posting excerpts to youtube, so I will have to drop the connection for a couple of minutes at the bottom of the hour, and you will have to refresh the page to get it to come back up.
