Lightning Storm July 5, 2012
Video and screen grabs of a lightning storm that passed through Macon County this evening. My location was 4 miles ENE of Franklin, NC.

Early Morning Lightning
This lightning is part of a storm that moved through Towns County, Georgia a little after 3.30am today. I was watching it from 4 miles NNE of Franklin, NC. The storm was about 20-30 miles to my Southwest. Shortly after that the ubiquitous early morning fog moved in and ruined the show.

Solstice Storm Photos
A pretty good storm passed from my Northeast to my Southwest, dropping a quick quarter inch of rain at my place some 4 miles NE of Franklin, NC. Here are some photos I took during and after the storm.
The storm knocked over my Cherokee Purple Tomatoes and I had to improvise a temporary support system to hold them up. I guess that means that I'll have to go ahead and build a trellis to support them tomorrow. I should have had that built this weekend anyway.

VIDEO: Afternoon Thunderstorm at WCU
There was a good thunderstorm that came through the campus of Western Carolina University this afternoon, and since I could never catch the frequent lightning with my still camera, I switched to plan B and went video and caught some good strikes, and a little pea-sized hail.
