Daily Weather Briefing for Friday, June 30, 2017




LOCAL OUTLOOK

High pressure centered over the western Atlantic and an upper-level trough over the eastern part of the nation will provide a southerly flow bringing moisture north from the Gulf through the weekend. An upper-level disturbance crossing the area today will lead to widespread showers. Summer heat returns through the weekend and next week with a daily chance of afternoon and evening showers and storms.

Daily Weather Briefing for Monday, June 26, 2017




LOCAL OUTLOOK

Dry and cool air will continue to spread in from the northwest over the region through much of the week as Canadian high pressure remains to our north. An upper-level disturbance will bring a chance of rain to the area on Tuesday, and then as the high moves offshore late this week, a humid southerly flow will return, along with a chance of mainly afternoon thunderstorms.

SYRINGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC. Opioid overdose reversal kits including naloxone are available free of charge.
