TODAY IS VETERANS DAY
Today is Veterans Day and the 100th anniversary of the ending of the first World War. The Town of Franklin will observe the holiday tomorrow, on Monday, November 12th. A parade will take place at 10:30 am from the town hall to the gazebo on Iotla Street, followed by a ceremony at the gazebo that will include Radford Penland as the keynote speaker, a rifle salute, a wreath-laying, and taps.

Outlook
Cold and dry Canadian high pressure will remain across the region today. On Monday, a moist low-pressure system will arrive from the south and linger into Tuesday. Another area of dry and unseasonably cool high pressure will build back in on Wednesday. Another rain event is expected on Thursday with a wintry mix to our east. Another cold Canadian high pressure is expected to arrive next weekend with a chance of frozen precipitation for the region.

Weather Hazards
Temperatures will start out below freezing this morning. There may be freezing fog in some locations.
A warm front will set up over the region early Monday, with low pressure moving along the front between Monday afternoon and early Tuesday. As a result, deep subtropical moisture will flow into the region, producing widespread rainfall which will be heavy at times. Some flooding could develop, mainly Monday night.

Patchy freezing fog before 8am. Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then clearing, with a high ranging from the upper 40s in the higher elevations to the mid-50s in the lower elevations. Light south southeast wind.

Monday
Rain, mainly between 10am and 2pm, then showers after 2pm. The rain could be heavy at times. Highs in the 40s. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three-quarters and one inch possible.

Showers. Lows ranging from the upper 30s to the lower 40s. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday
Rain, mainly before 2pm. Highs in the 40s. Lower elevations may reach 50. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
