Outlook
A cold front will cross the region from the west today, followed by a strong upper-level disturbance this evening. Dry high pressure will then return to the area on Sunday, but with another rapidly moving cold front approaching the region Monday and passing east of the area on Tuesday. Temperatures will warm from the middle to the latter part of next week under generally dry high pressure. Moisture will begin returning to the southeast on Friday.

A strong cold front will cross the mountains from the west today, ushering in windy conditions, colder temperatures, and snow showers. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible in some mountain valleys, with 2 to 4 inches possible along the higher peaks through Saturday night. In addition, northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph may gust to 50 mph at times, especially along the higher elevations. Slippery road conditions may develop into Sunday morning, even in areas with little to no snow accumulations, due to temperatures rapidly falling below freezing Saturday night.
