Cowee Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a Benefit for Junior Firefighter Dakota Collins on Saturday, November 7th. [LINK]

Today is election day and the polls will be open from 6:30am to 7:30pm at all the regular locations. Macon Media will be providing live updates from the Macon County Board of Elections as results come in. The focus will be on local elections and how local people vote in state and federal elections.

The following is a list of Macon County polling places and a description of each buffer zone in which Election Day electioneering. Buffer zones are designated in accordance with G.S. 163-166.4(a), by the County Board of Elections. Where practical set limit of the zone is 50 feet from the door of entrance to the voting place.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently upgraded Tropical Storm Eta, located over the central Caribbean Sea.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.
