Dry high pressure will dominate our weather pattern today. A cold front is expected to sweep through the region this weekend, bringing rain and high winds with it and colder temperatures for the start of the week. Highs may reach the mid-50s by Thanksgiving Day.

Mostly cloudy with highs in the 50s and 10 to 15 from the south, gusting to 30 mpg. Rain chances 50%, mainly starting in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts under a tenth of an inch is expected.

Cloudy with lows in the low to mid-30s and winds 15 to 20 mph from the west, gusting to 40 mph. 80% chance of rain. Rainfall amounts are not expected to exceed half an inch.

For the North Atlantic...The Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. An elongated area of low pressure extends from southwest to northeast across the southwestern and central Caribbean Sea. This system continues to produce widespread shower and thunderstorm activity. However, strong upper-level winds are expected to prevent significant development. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall is possible over portions of the northwestern coast of Colombia, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico during the next few days while the low meanders over the central Caribbean Sea and interacts with an upper-level trough.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.
