Woman Followed by Pickup From Walmart Parking Lot in Franklin

This is a message shared by a reader of Macon Media. This person is of good character and level-headed. Please pay attention to your surroundings and call 911 if this happens to you.

Hey, I wanted to reach out with some information about a serious incident my wife had yesterday in case you wanted to share it more broadly to alert others. She was aggressively followed by a guy in a truck from the Walmart parking lot. I have front and rear dash cams in my car so I have all the footage and can see he sat and waited for 47 minutes for her to come out and then proceeded to follow her as she attempted some evasion. All in all, he was on camera for over 108 minutes either waiting or pursuing. She smartly did the things I have taught her like double back and make last second decisions to turn or exit the highway once she realized she was being tailed and that clearly shows his nefarious intentions. She called 911 after calling me and drove straight to the police station.

He followed the entire way and even pulled up next to her in the oncoming traffic lane at the light right in front of the station. Once she pulled into the Franklin police station, he went past, but eventually came back 3 minutes later and she was able to point him out to the officers. They questioned him, but had to let him go because at that time they had not had access to the dash cam footage (they now have it and I am awaiting a reply) and likewise had nothing to hold him on. The "Whats happening" group declined to post the information and I understand if you want to post or not. I just do not want some other female who may not be as situationally aware as my wife encounter them with a more serious outcome. I do not know his intentions, but they were certainly nefarious.

The vehicle was a 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 truck. Either black or dark gray in color. 4 door extended cab with oversized side mirrors. Chrome wheels GA plates - CPR 4598 (I will send an image)
