Here is the news and weather briefing for Macon County.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

A stationary front remains across the Gulf Coast to the Georgia coast through mid week with dry conditions under weak high pressure. Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected by next weekend as a weak cold front approaches from the north. Temperatures are expected to be well above normal at end of the week.

So far, no one has filed for District 1 (Highlands) or District 3 (Nantahala).
Filing opened at noon on June 10th and will close on July 5th at noon.





Macon Co Elder Abuse Awareness Walk- June 17

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is just around the corner.

Macon County Senior Services will be hosting an elder abuse awareness walk in downtown Franklin on Monday, June 17 (rain or shine).

Presentations start at 5:30 and the walk will start promptly at 6:00pm at the downtown gazebo.
