Weekend Weather Briefing for Sunday, July 28, 2024

Here is the news and weather briefing for Macon County.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

High pressure over the Eastern Seaboard will keep the Piedmont dry today, but showers and thunderstorms are likely to return to portions of the mountains in the afternoon or evening. A moist and unsettled pattern will develop tonight into Monday and last most of this week. Moisture increases and we get a steady diet of upper disturbances to trigger above normal chances of showers and thunderstorms each day Monday onward. Temperatures will also go through a warming trend by the end of the week.
