Macon Action group rallied at the Speaker's Corner at the courthouse in support of workers across America over billionaires. They also held a food drive to benefit Macon Carenet. Macon Media spoke with Lisa Walker, the organizer of the rally. Summary She highlighted how inflation and rising cost of living have squeezed middle- and lower-income people, while a few are getting very wealthy.
She pointed out North Carolina's poor rankings — teachers paid 46th and state troopers 50th in the country — calling it embarrassing and shameful for essential workers. She emphasized that the state can and should do better to support them.
