Cool and dry high pressure will remain across the area through the middle of the week. A wet pattern will develop by the end of the work week, with wintry weather possible for parts of the Carolinas and northeast Georgia. A very cold pattern will persist through next week.

HAZARDS
Hazardous weather is not expected today.
There is potential for a couple of winter weather events on Thursday and Friday and a second in the late Saturday to early Monday time frame. So far, it is looking like the Thursday-Friday event will be drier (less snow) than the computer models were showing. The air will be cold enough to snow. All we need is for the moisture to show up. The Sunday-Monday event will also have cold enough temperatures for snow to happen and, so far, it is looking like there might be a better chance with this event. Keep alternate travel plans in mind just in case these events do materialize.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a potential winter weather event Thursday and Friday. More information is posted below.
..THURSDAY...Winter weather possible. A cold Arctic airmass will build into the area from the north. Moist southerly flow atop this airmass may lead to the development of a wintry mix late Thursday, lasting into Friday. Snow and/or ice accumulations are possible.
