Grand Opening Ceremonies and Dedication of the Jackson County Library

The Jackson County Public Library Complex


The formal grand opening and dedication of the Jackson County Public Library took place this past Saturday, June 11, 2011 in Sylva, NC. Hundreds of people attended the event and there were speeches acknowledging the efforts of the many people that worked together to secure the funds to build the new library that lasted nearly an hour before the ribbon was cut. The event started with the premiere performance of a musical piece called "Smoky Mountain Fanfare" that was commissioned by the Smoky Mountain Quintet for the Grand Opening of the new library.
