As surface high pressure moves offshore and moist southerly flow returns, chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms will begin on Tuesday and increase gradually through Saturday. Another cold front will approach from the west on Sunday.

LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL DAY - FOP LOGE #81
At noon, the annual observance by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #81 of Macon and Jackson Counties will be held at the gazebo on the corner of Main Street and Iotla Street. Iotla Street at the gazebo will be closed for the event. Mint Hill Police Chief Tim Ledford will be the keynote speaker.

SYRINGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM
On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC. Opioid overdose reversal kits including naloxone are available free of charge.
