Rain will redevelop across the region later today into early Thursday as a frontal system moves over the region. A brief dry period may occur late Thursday, but in response to low pressure moving up from the Gulf Coast, another period of moderate to heavy rainfall is expected by Friday. With soils remaining soggy in many areas following the rainy period between Christmas and New Year`s, these upcoming rain events may result in more flooding late this week. The flooding is especially likely along those rivers which remain at elevated stages.
