Franklin, N.C. – December 22, 2020 – The first shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived and was administered at Angel Medical Center on Saturday, December 19. A total of 117 frontline healthcare workers at Angel Medical Center received the vaccine during the four hour clinic. The first to be vaccinated was Angel Medical Center ICU/Medsurg Team Leader, Tommie Blalock. “It was awesome to go first,” commented Blalock.
Mission Health has received our first shipment of the Moderna vaccine and word of our next batch of the Pfizer vaccine. This means we’ll have an additional 3,000+ doses for distribution starting next week and we expect more shipments to come.
The Mission Health team is so pleased with how enthusiastic our staff has been as we work through stage 1 of vaccinating our colleagues.

Will they also be giving vaccines to the public?
My understanding is that pharmacies will be giving most of the shots. Walgreens and CVS are the ones I have heard mentioned as being the main contractors.
