Here is the news and weather briefing for Macon County.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

Northwest flow precipitation will continue through early this morning along the Tennessee border. Winds will increase and become gusty as cooler high pressure pushes into the region today, with frequent strong gusts across the mountains. The high pressure will maintain dry conditions through much of the workweek and the eventual return of springlike temperatures Tuesday. Another cold front will arrive on Friday, bringing the next chance for rainfall.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Sunday to noon EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

947 – The Later Han is founded by Liu Zhiyuan. He declares himself emperor.
