GENERAL OUTLOOK
Dry high pressure continues through today with temperatures well above normal. A couple of isolated to scattered showers may return for some locations tonight into Thursday, mainly across the southwest mountains and northeast Georgia. A notably strong storm system will impact the area Saturday into Sunday and will bring widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe with damaging wind.

Realtive humidy levels will drop near 30% this afternoon, so outdoor burning is not reccomended. Any fires that get out of control will have the potential to rapdily spread.
A powerful storm system is expected to cross the region Saturday into Sunday, bringing showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe. Locally heavy rain is also expected, which may result in isolated minor/nuisance flooding.
