LOCAL OUTLOOK

A weak cold front slowly approaches from the northwest today crossing the region tonight. The front will settle just south of the area on Wednesday. Low pressure will develop along the front over the area late in the week, while high-pressure noses down into the region from the Mid-Atlantic. Another cold front will approach from the west over the weekend.

On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC.
