NEWS BRIEF

State Legislature

The North Carolina General Assembly met yesterday, with the NC Senate reading the Governor's Veto of legislation passed during the First Extra Session of the 2017-2018 biennium into the record. The State legislature will reconvene on Thursday, August 2nd with nothing on the calendar and then will meet again on Saturday, August 4th at 11 am to override the governor's veto. LOCAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

A broad area of low pressure will develop and persist across the Tennessee Valley this week. This low will transport deep moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and produce abundant cloud cover and precipitation, which will help hold max temperatures below normal through the end of the week.
