LOCAL GOVERNMENT MEETINGS THIS WEEK

The Franklin Planning Board will be meeting this afternoon to discuss changes to the town parking ordinance. The public agenda, agenda packet, and a copy of the parking ordinance is included in the article on the blog. A video will be added after the meeting. [LINK]

The Franklin Town Council will have a Special Called Meeting at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Uniform Guidance Policies, a street closing request by JEPACA, Inc., and possible changes to the Barking Dog Ordinance.

A robust cold front will approach the forecast area from the west today and help to generate numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could become severe and produce large hail, damaging wind gusts, and possibly even weak tornadoes. Isolated urban and small stream flooding is also a threat with these storms. The flooding threat will be greatest over the higher terrain. In the front`s wake, drier high pressure will spread over the area for the latter half of the week.
