TEACHERS GROUP HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE AT COURTHOUSE

A group of teachers gathered for a press conference at the Macon County Courthouse late Friday afternoon to present a list of grievances that including large class sizes and inadequate supplies. A full video of the event has been posted on the blog. [LINK]


COMMISSIONERS TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING FOR PROJECT WAYAH

Jimmy Tate, chairman of the Macon County Board of Commissioners has called for a special meeting of the board to discuss actions they can take to support Project Wayah, including an application to obtain a grant from the state for the "construction, improvement, or development of an existing building in Macon County." The meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 28th at 5:30 pm.
