During last night's budget work session, Summer Woodard, the town manager, updated the town council on the revenue for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Among the figures she relayed to the council was the town had currently received $3,529,976.53 in revenue as of May 18th, and expenditures total $3,406,599.44, leaving a current budget surplus of $123,377.09. There are six weeks left in the budget year, which ends on June 30th. The budget the council approved last year had included about $270,000 from the Fund Reserve due to uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fire department is ahead a little over $310,000, but that is due to unanticipated grant revenue. The water and sewer department are showing a little over $789,000 in surplus to date. Her complete report is included in the video below and the full meeting can be seen on Youtube.
